- A gastronomic paradise, only 4 km away from Todi, which will offer you the opportunity to taste the specialities of the Italian cooking in a splendid location of the Umbrian countryside.
The Bed and Breakfast a Todi is a delightful mansion of two colonic houses, one ancient and the other one just restored, divided into four apartments . Signora Francesca, the discreet and very caring owner of lovely I Gelsomini, lives on the ground floor of one of the two houses. The two houses are surrounded by a nice garden with pines, olive trees and magnolias; there are two swimming pools, one oval (12*6 metri) and the other one rectangular (14* 5 metri) with Jacuzzi. Three houses have their private loggia on the ground floor; this is the perfect shady spot for afternoon tea if you are feeling in need of a change of scene after lounging by the pool, soaking up the magnificent wide views in that part of the grounds. The houses are found at a distance of only 6 Km from the historic center of Todi, one of the most beautiful cities of art in Umbria, and at only 3 Km from the hamlet of Izzalini (with an excellent bakery that features a wood-burning oven). They are also just a few minutes from Collelungo di Baschi (which has a food shop that offers specialties from the Umbria region). Todi is at just 40/50 Km from the major centers of Umbria: Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto… - WHERE WE ARE
- Coming from North
To reach the house if you are coming from Florence there are two possibilities. The first is to take the Orvieto exit from the Motorway A1 and after paying the toll, turn left and follow the signs for Todi. You will keep on seeing the motorway for about 10 km, then you’ll go over a bridge over the motorway and at the crossroads go left for Todi. After a few of km you’ll reach Corbara Lake, where you could stop off at the famous restaurant Vissani. Carry on with the lake on your left and at the end of the lake you will go through two galleries. Shortly afterwards you will see the city of Todi. At the crossroads if you go left you go towards the main road which takes you to Perugia, and there’s a new bridge, you go straight. Follow the signs for Fiore, Izzalini Spaiagrano, at the end of the street there is another sign for Fiore, here turn right. The road will start going up, and here you’ll find a sign for Spaiagrano, continue going up the hill until you find yourself right in the centre of a little town, turn left, go past the little church, down the road a bit, go round a bend, on the left you’ll see Todi and a big storage building where they stack hay in the Summer, and then Casa Bonacina. Jasmine, a hand painted plate and a grey gate will confirm your position, drive through the gate and there you are! Always for those coming from Bologna or Florence. You can also take the exit from the Motorway A1 at Firenze Signa and then take the main road for Perugia and drive along the side of the Lake Trasimeno, on your right. The main road carries on to the outskirts of Perugia with many galleries. After the last gallery there is the sign for Terni-Roma, take this road and carry on straight until you reach the first sign for Todi, turn right and then left following the directions for Orvieto, cross over the new bridge and here you will see Todi city on your left up high at the cross roads follow the directions for Fiore, Izzalini, Spaiagrano, as above.
Coming from South If you are coming from Rome take the Orte exit from the A1 motorway, unless there is a lot of traffic and long queues, in which case you are advised to take the Orvieto exit as explained above. Once you have paid the toll in Orte go towards Terni, before reaching Terni, however, you must take the main road Perugia-Cesena, and get off at the exit Todi S.Damiano, turn left straight away and go up the long road. At the top of this road turn left and at the first crossing there should be a sign of the house. Follow the directions for Fiore, Ponte Naia, Izzalini, and drive into the little village of Ponte Naia, carry on straight and you should have the sport field on your right, follow the directions for the house and for Fiore, keep on going up, you should see a beautiful castle on your left, and another further ahead on your right, a house on the left and carrying on towards the left there will also be a beautiful garden full of trees and then a grey gate, You have arrived! - generals INFORMATIONS
